My Sunshine State Grandmother

My sunshine state grandmother: a believer, an achiever, a goal seeker, a Christian, the ultimate woman.    My sunshine state grandmother reeks of culture, from her slim European nose, to her long, black, silky Native American braids free falling ever so gently down her back.

She is a woman of education, a woman of love.  My sunshine state grandmother has lived through America's good times and America's bad times.  The Vietnam War, the first African American president, the Civil Rights Act, and 9/11.  She has lived through America's refining culture, its fashion fads, and its defining moments.

I love her because she loves Disney, teapots, collectibles, trips to Puerto Rico, her family, and most of all God.  Even though I do not see her very often I know her love for me is strong.

Appreciate your sunshine state grandmother, because I sure do appreciate mine.
