TRAINER MICHAEL OLAJIDE

As the "new year effect" begins to wear off and people once dedicated to hitting the gym faithfully for the month of January drop like flies, here's to hoping you keep motivated and in shape for 2014. Plus, swimsuit season is coming soon, don't let it sneak up on you.

One of my inspirations happens to be Michael Olajide, a former champion boxer and current Victoria's Secret models trainer.  His workouts are big on cardio, including jump roping, running and of course he incorporates boxing--all of which are my favorite ways to keep my thin frame and stay fit and healthy.

A quick workout from him with a Victoria's Secret model goes a little something like this: "Michael took us through a typical training routine with Adriana at his side, and we were pleasantly surprised to learn that it would be simple to do the entire session at home. First we focused on the core, with standing oblique twists, crunches, and leg lifts that his both the lower and upper abs. Next came the cardio: 15 minutes of jump-roping followed by 15 minutes of boxing. Michael says that he and his Angels concentrate on "upper body cardio" -- while most cardiovascular workouts like running and cycling focus on the legs, jumping rope and boxing work the core and arm muscles. Jumping started off simple, but progressed into a challenging routine with fancy footwork like crossovers and double-turns" (Taken from Marie Claire's Victoria's Secret Angel Workout Tips - Fitness Tips from Model Trainer Michael Olajide).
